Midwest Crossroad Chorus Leadership
Midwest Crossroad Chorus thrives because of the energy and style of the people who have stepped up to lead. Here are a few of the people that make our ensemble tick:
Tori Hicks- Music Director
Tori Hicks, a Sweet Adelines Master Director, is a veteran of the Midwest Crossroad Chorus of Sweet Adelines International Region 3. She served as assistant director and choreographer for the chorus for her first ten years as a member, but stepped out of the ranks in January of 1997 to become the front-line director, leading the chorus to numerous regional championships and International Competition appearances.
Tori graduated from Lewis University with a degree in Vocal Music. Tori was a pre-school educator for over 20 years and now is the Director of Music at St. John Lutheran Church in Joliet, Illinois.
In addition to directing the Midwest Crossroad Chorus, Tori has sung in numerous accomplished quartets and now finds herself taking it back to the risers as a dual member of the Melodeers chorus.
Tori is happily married to Daniel has two talented and amazing adult children, Jordan Hicks and Jenelle Lambert. She is also a doting grandma to William! Tori is not the only member of the family to love making music. Jordan (bassist extraordinaire) loves playing out with his Indy band, The Barefoot Elephants. Jenelle's husband, Jacob, is a member of and section leader for the New Tradition Barbershop Chorus while Jenelle sings with the World Champion Melodeers Chorus, Midwest Crossroad Chorus, and is currently singing lead in the Region 3 Champion Quartet, PRISM!
This busy woman has touched the lives of many with her sparkling sense of humor, positive energy and unflagging enthusiasm!
